Dr Faustus gets his comeuppance

I must admit I never cared too much for Dr Faustus when I first discovered him in the pages of Captain America 161-162. He was a villain using pop psychiatry against super-heroes, and as such was always a nattily dressed big, bulky man, but artist Sal Buscema made him far too teutonic for him to be hot. I can't say I remember anything about Dr Faustus' next apperance in Captain America 192, drawn by Frank Robbins (an excellent artist, but not known for his sexy bodies, male or female). And then came Amazing Spider-Man 170 and I looked at the good doctor in a whole new light. Artist Ross Andru made Dr Faustus into a real bear of a man (emphasising the fact that he'd only been seen in silhouette the issue before, and that was a red herring to make readers think that the bulky villain was Spidey's arch-nemesis the Kingpin). Whatever the reasons, Dr Faustus never looked better, I thought. Of course, the fact that he always wore a suit and tie made him even sexier.
And lo and behold! At the end of the story, Spider-Man left Dr Faustus in a hogtie! That was real hot!
Unfortunately, when one looks very closely at the image of the hogtied Dr Faustus, one realizes that his legs must be very, very long. Still, Ross Andru manages to make that improbable anatomy look convincing. Too bad the good doctor didn't get more time tied up, but then again, villains rarely do, in comics.

All Packed and Ready to Go

Continuing my exciting adventures in Photoshop! This one drawing I've had finished and scanned for some time but I was kid of wary of colouring it. The task seemed daunting. Then today, I bought a special comics issue of something called digital artist magazine which has lots of info on computer colouring, among other things, so I was very eager to try them. So - voilà!
Yes, it's yet another kidnapping fantasy - or should I say man-napping? The little name-tag is meant to suggest that the man works in some kind of store or restaurant (talk about "takeaway"!). I was actually a bit taken aback when I went to the United States and realized that many older people there not only worked past retirement age, but actually had to work to earn living wages.
This is a very sensitive issue for me. My father died aged 73, only eight years after he'd retired, and his last three or four years were plagued by health problems. That meant he only had five years at most to enjoy the quiet retirement he'd dreamed of for so long. When some government, French or British, wants to raise the retirement age to 67 (or higher - who knows? sky's the limit!), I have a strong urge to punch head of said government in the face. Hard.
Strange as it may seem, coming from someone whose fantasies involve tying up older men, I actually have a lot of respect and love for older people and find it a downright shame that they should have to work until they drop in any so-called rich and affluent society. So who knows? Maybe "Felix" isn't so bad off and is actually being man-napped by somebody who'll take him away from it all. Enforced retirement... Now, that's a thought...

Mature Prisoner

This one has a long history. In late 1998, I submitted some drawings for publication in Projet X, a magazine that purported to be "le magazine des sexualités hard" ("the magazine of extreme sexualities"). As a matter of fact, the mag was mostly about dressing up in military or rubber gear, indulging in fist fucking and rolling in mud. Models in the photo displays were mostly of the young and muscled kind. In my opinion, the best thing to come out of Projet X was Logan, a young French artist specializing in bearish and heavyset guys.
Anyway, one day, encouraged by my friend Thom Seck, a gay artist who was also a sometimes-contributor to Projet X, I went and showed them my work. The rest of the story you can read here, along with another version of the above drawing which was published in Projet X. This is a colour version of the original drawing I had submitted, and which I still like better. Hence the different title.

Home Invasion

Well, it's always a home invasion, isn't it? Or at least, very often. That's one hot fantasy, even if the reality of home invasions is not nearly as hot. But as you probably noticed, this blog doesn't deal in reality. I'm here to depict a hot daddy in bondage and his home being invaded is a pretty good reason for a mature man to find himself tied up, bound and gagged, and maybe tickle tortured a little… or a lot, who knows? He'll just have to take it anyway. He's no longer in control. His captors are.

A Long Time Ago, in a Galaxy far, far away...

Once upon a time, long, long ago, there was no internet. I know it sounds hard to believe today, but not only was there no internet, personal computers were just starting. There were no scanners. The best you could do to reproduce a drawing in a cheap way was to go to the local copy shop. Which is what I did with this drawing when I sent it, along with some others, to a magazine called Chiron Rising.
Chiron Rising was this wonder of wonder - a gay magazine that wasn't about twinks or musclemen but about older men. I found a copy at local Parisian gay bookshop Les Mots à la Bouche in the late 1980s and I'm still wondering how it got there. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I got in touch with the magazine and became a contributor. The drawing above was one such contribution, in a slightly modified form. Chiron Rising was a magazine about older males and their admirers, not about S&M, so I kept the kink factor in my drawings rather low. I have added the gag on the man on the bed, as well as the caption, to give some context. And of course, the colour is all new.
By the way, contributing to Chiron Rising was my reason for developing the nom de plume Jeryn. It seemed everybody in the mag had a pseudonym, so I thought up one, using a couple of letters from my real name and adding an ending that sounded English. At the time, I was pretty sure there was no such name as "Jeryn". When the internet finally came, I found that there really were people called Jeryn in the United States, not all of them male.

Rude Awakening

This one was made especially for this blog as I try and keep it relatively free of explicit sex. Not free of explicit bondage, however, but strangely enough, a picture like the above, which I find highly erotic, would not rate as porn in most people's opinion. Truly, all is in the eye of the beholder.
On this one, I have been experimenting with the colouring possibilities of Photoshop I had left alone so far. I've been getting slightly more daring, but it's still a far cry from most mainstream American comics' colouring. We live and learn.
Now, just so this piece of artwork can easily be found by people with the same interest in the… er… erotic, I will state the obvious : it's a picture of an older man in bondage, or should I say a mature man tape bound and tape gagged. And just so we don't stay in the English-speaking world : hommes mûr attaché, maduros in bondage. So there. Oughtta get me a few hits.

Ballgag Tryouts

I felt a little silly yesterday and scribbled those in my sketchbook. I like ballgags, they are my favourite kind of gag, I believe, and they are just great to draw, especially on a mature man. The one on the far right looks a little like J. Jonah Jameson, from Spider-Man, who's been gagged (and bound) quite a few times in his very long career (and if you don't believe me, just go look here). This one is for my good friend Dave, who loves ballgags and would look great in that lineup.
